On September 26, 2014, Ronald Bobbie was pulled from the Red River just north of the Redwood
Bridge in Winnipeg, Manitoba by Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Services. CPR was commenced and he
was taken to St. Boniface Hospital, but he could not be revived; cause of death was
drowning. At the time of his death, Mr. Bobbie, 59-years-old, was absent without leave from
the Selkirk Mental Health Centre. Date of inquest report – June 13, 2017. Status of review –
completed July 20, 2018.
