Our Commitment to Accessibility
Manitoba Ombudsman serves all citizens and is committed to access and participation for all who seek assistance from our office. We are committed to understanding the perspectives and experiences of people with disabilities and fully implementing the Accessibility for Manitobans Act.
Accessibility Requests & Feedback
Our office will provide accessible formats or communication supports for people with disabilities. Please let us know if you require assistance to make a complaint or participate in our investigation process.

The Accessibility Coordinator will work with you to understand your specific information and accessibility needs and provide them within a reasonable timeframe. Feedback on the accessibility of our offices and services is also welcomed.
Accessible Offices
300-5 Donald Street in Winnipeg
The accessible entrance is located at the rear of the building. Blue signs help directs users to the accessible entry equipped with a power door. Accessible parking is also available in the parking lot. All doors are power-assisted and there is an elevator to access the third floor. The office has a fully accessible washroom.
202 – 1011 Rosser Avenue in Brandon
This building has elevator access to the second floor. Street parking or loading parking is available in front of the building. The second floor office does not have power assisted doors. Please call 1-800-665-0531 if you require assistance with the office door. The floor has an accessible washroom.
Suite 1720, City Centre Mall in Thompson
The mall and office have accessible entrances. Accessible washrooms are available in the mall.

Website Accessibility
Manitoba Ombudsman is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. Our goal is a barrier-free digital experience that reflects the spirit of the provincial Accessibility for Manitobans Act, and meets or exceeds the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. www.ombudsman.mb.ca is fully conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA. Fully conformant means that the content fully conforms to the accessibility standard without any exceptions.

Accessibility of www.ombudsman.mb.ca relies on the following technologies to work with the particular combination of web browser and any assistive technologies or plugins installed on your computer:

- JavaScript
These technologies are relied upon for conformance with the accessibility standards used.

Manitoba Ombudsman assessed the accessibility of www.ombudsman.mb.ca by the following approaches:
- Self-evaluation
- Automated tools (Equalize digital Accessibility Checker Plug in, axe DevTools browser extension, and WAVE browser extension)
- Manual testing for pointer navigation, keyboard navigation, basic screen reader navigation, and code, design, and content review
