Jul 6, 2016

Manitoba Ombudsman is pleased to host the 2016 Manitoba Connections: Access, Privacy, Security and Information Management Conference, on September 27-28, 2016 at the Delta Hotel in Winnipeg.

The conference is intended for public sector organizations such as provincial government departments and agencies, municipal governments, school divisions, universities, colleges, regional health authorities and health-care facilities.

Information is at the core of all public sector programs and services, and often includes personal information and personal health information of citizens, clients, patients, students, and employees.

Organizations working with information must consider access to information, information privacy, information security and information management. Manitoba Connections brings these disciplines together in one conference to help employees of public bodies and trustees improve their knowledge and skills in these areas and make connections between these areas in their workplaces.

Over the course of the one-and-a-half-day conference, participants will hear from five plenary speakers and be able to customize their own agenda by choosing from a selection of 16 different breakout sessions. There are also three optional half-day pre-conference workshops on the morning of September 27 that will allow participants to explore issues in-depth.

Verney Conference Management is coordinating the conference planning effort, along with an advisory committee of representatives from public bodies and trustees. The full agenda is available on the conference website.

The early bird registration rate is in effect until August 26, 2016.
