Ombudsman Division

Welcome

The Ombudsman Division's role is to promote fairness and administrative accountability through the independent, objective and non-partisan investigation of complaints filed under The Ombudsman Act. These complaints may be related to any act, decision, recommendation or omission relating to a matter of administration, by any department or agency of the provincial government or a municipal government. The Division also investigates disclosures of wrongdoing under The Public Interest Disclosure (Whistleblower Protection) Act. This site is intended to provide you with information about our role and activities.

Regular visitors are encouraged to check the What's New page, where we will announce new additions to the site.

A good place to start is with our information about Investigations or General Powers of the Ombudsman. Annual Reports are available in our Publications section. Copies of The Ombudsman Act and The Public Interest Disclosure (Whistleblower Protection) Act are available for online or off-line reading. Information about making a complaint or disclosure is available on our Complaints page.
